Guadalupe National Park

We left the kids place in Houston and traveled west on I-10.  At Van Horn, TX we turned N on 54 to get into Guadalupe National Park.  The hill about 10 miles south of the park was very steep.  We got there in the afternoon and the wind was up.  I nearly overheated the truck getting up the hill.

Campground was a parking lot.

Interesting tree.

We took a ride to Williams Ranch. Barbara's first rough 4x4 road on her motorcycle.  Her arms where really tired by the time we got back to the main road.  We had to get a special permit from the park office to ride the road.

Another attraction there is the Devils Hall Hike. Old creek bed that cut the walls in the canyon very steep.

Other hikes abounded, from the top of the mountain.

Enjoying the sun, trying to get used to their new lifestyle.

An old homestead.
