John Prince County Park and Campground

New toys must be used. So we scheduled a quick trip to John Prince County Park Campground.

We also scheduled a scuba dive off of the Starship.
Easy lazy trip. Got up Saturday mowed the lawn and packed up. Got to the campground around 3pm, picked out a nice spot on the lake.

We wish we had brought the canoe.

We took a nice walk around the campground:

Then Sunday we got up and went diving:

Next week will do it all over again and then bring the camper home.
John Prince Park is a delight. The county has worked hard in the last 5 years to bring this campgound up to 2009 standards. They have added 50amp service and sewer connections to an area of the campground. They are in the process of adding more. They have signifigantly increased the number of total camp sites.
The restrooms are still the original ones built a long time ago. But they are all clean and well maintained. They have added impact proof play areas and equipment, enough to handle several groups of kids.
We stayed in site 67 next to the lake. No problem getting in an out. This site is scheduled to have sewer connections installed in July 2009. The other site we picked out was 107, corner lot in the "improved" section. Plenty of room to get our big rig into.
There is a small hiking trail near the registration kiosk.
